Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Hardcode Studios collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Jam Book mobile app. Jam Book is designed for musicians who want to capture song ideas, section recordings, lyrics, chords, notes, and collaboration details.
Jam Book is local-first for much of its creative data, but the app also includes account and collaboration features that use Hardcode Studios-hosted services.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, Jam Book may collect or process:
- Account details such as your email address, display name, and sign-in session information.
- Song, band, invite, and collaboration data that you choose to create, sync, or share using Jam Book account features.
- Password reset requests and support communications you send to us.
- Local creative content stored on your device, including lyrics, chords, notes, arrangements, profile images, and rough audio recordings.
Permissions and Device Access
- Microphone: used only when you choose to record audio inside the app.
- Photo library: used only when you choose an image such as profile art or song-related artwork.
- Local storage: used to save your database, settings, selected images, and locally stored recordings on your device.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and manage your account;
- authenticate sign-in and maintain your session;
- support password recovery;
- enable band and collaboration features;
- store and retrieve content you choose to sync through Jam Book services;
- provide support, investigate issues, and protect the service from abuse.
How Data Is Stored
- Many parts of Jam Book operate on-device using local storage on your phone or tablet.
- Account and collaboration features use remote Hardcode Studios services and databases to support sign-in, password recovery, band membership, and synced/shared content.
- Audio recordings and selected images may be stored locally on your device unless and until a feature explicitly syncs or shares them.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers or infrastructure needed to operate Jam Book, or where required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the service.
Children's Privacy
Jam Book is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.
